The Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust was established in the year 1999 by Mr KP Muthusamy(B.E Civil engineer, FIV).As an activity the trust first ventured into setting up Indhira Gandhi Matriculation School in 1999 and later started Indhira Gandhi Teacher Training Institute in the year 2007

The Educational Institutions were started by the Trust, with an aim of providing quality education to the people in and around Dharapuram. It is situated on Karur main road, Dharapuram in the residential areas of Kolathapalayam.

Mr.KP Muthusamy is the Founder of the Institution and was the Chairman until May 1 2015 after which he claimed retirement.
